As I wrap up my time with FinLocker and step into my role as President of MISMO, I’m happy to share that the MLO VieauxPoint weekly segment will continue with Chrisman Commentary.
You’ll just have a new, and improved, Vieaux.
Ethan Vieaux, Vice President of Customer Success at FinLocker, will be taking the pen from here. Ethan has spent years in the trenches with loan officers, helping them integrate technology that genuinely serves both their business and their borrowers. He understands the value, and the responsibility loan officers carry in preparing homebuyers, especially first-time buyers, to approach homeownership with confidence.
He’s also become fluent in using AI tools to help loan officers show up consistently and effectively in their markets.
As for me, you’ll still see my name in the Chrisman Commentary universe from time to time, though my focus will shift toward the broader industry conversation, specifically, how data standards and interoperability can drive real efficiency and innovation across our ecosystem.
Now, I’ll hand the pen over to Ethan so he can share what he’s been exploring lately, including some fascinating work with Sora that’s reshaping how AI is used in content creation for mortgage professionals.
Thanks for the handoff, Dad, and for setting the standard.
Over the past year, I've been knee-deep in exploring new technology tools, and lately I've been focused on Sora 2, OpenAI's new video creation platform. Even after a short time using it, the potential is clear. What once required a production team, long hours, and a serious budget can now be created in minutes with a clear idea and a few thoughtful prompts.
For loan officers and marketing teams, this isn't just about working faster. It's about finding new ways to tell stories and connect with people, whether it's walking a first-time buyer through what it really takes to get ready for homeownership, clearing up confusion about down payments, or creating a personalized message to celebrate a client's milestone.
What excites me most is how accessible this kind of storytelling has become. You don't need design skills or a production background. You just need something worth saying and the willingness to try something new. Tools like Sora handle the heavy lifting so you
can focus on what matters most: building relationships and helping people understand their options.
I'm looking forward to sharing more of what I'm learning in the weeks ahead. If you're exploring this space or already experimenting with new video tools, I’d love to connect and trade ideas. And if you haven’t tried Sora yet, I still have a few invite codes available at the time of writing. Shoot me an email and I’ll share a code.
